In a world where connections are often seen as stepping stones to personal gain or a strategy, I’ve always seen it differently.
My name is Avalon Gomez, and my mission is simple: to be a vessel for others. This isn’t just a catchy phrase or a polished tagline; it’s the very essence of who I am and how I move through life. For me, connecting with others isn’t a strategy, and networking isn’t a game. It’s about being pure, true, and intentional in everything I do.
The Power of Genuine Intentions
When you lead with authenticity, people can sense it. They can feel when your intentions are genuine, and that’s where the magic really happens. In a world where hidden agendas lurk behind smiles and handshakes and congratulations, I strive to break that mold. My approach to relationships, whether personal or professional, is rooted in honesty and a deep commitment to being of service to others.
It’s easy to get caught up in the race for success, where connections are often reduced to transactions. But I believe that when we strip away the superficial layers, what we’re left with is the purest form of connection—one that empowers, uplifts, and inspires. This is especially important for women. We thrive when we come together, support one another, and connect the dots that lead to collective success.
As women, we are often taught to compete rather than collaborate. When we see another woman win, for some the first emotion is …”this should be me” ; But imagine what we could achieve if we shifted that mindset. Authentic connections are the foundation of true COMMUNITY & empowerment. They’re not built on ulterior motives or hidden agendas but on a genuine desire to see each other succeed. This belief is at the core of everything I do and try to embody through my platforms.
I’ve seen firsthand the transformative power of women supporting women. When we come together, share our stories, and lift each other up, we create a ripple effect that goes far beyond ourselves. We build communities where every woman feels seen, heard, and valued. We cultivate networks that are rooted in trust and mutual respect. And most importantly, we create spaces where every woman has the opportunity to thrive and not feel bad about celebrating herself.
It was this belief in the power of authentic connections that led me to found EmpowHER TT in 2016. Born from my personal experiences of challenges and the lack of support I faced as a young entrepreneur, EmpowHER TT was created to fill a void. I wanted to create a space where women could come together, not just to network, but to truly connect and feel connected through one platform.
As I prepare to relaunch EmpowHER TT after a brief hiatus, I’m more committed than ever to MY mission and pray it becomes OUR mission.
My purpose is, and always will be, to serve others. My prophet said I am a gatekeeper ; I am still learning my roles but very committed to it. The goal is to be a vessel through which genuine connections are made, and through which women can find the support they need to become who God created them to be.
This blog thing is also pretty new to me, as a non-writer lol this is also new territory but I pray we feel connected through my words. Let’s continue to connect with authenticity.
Recently, a social media follower shared with me that my authenticity shines through and that my intent is evident. Hearing this reaffirmed my belief in the power of genuine connections and the impact we can have when we lead with our true selves. You do not need to be popular to be purposeful.
Anywhoo , I’d love to hear your thoughts on the importance of authentic connections and how we can support one another. Share your experiences in the comments below or send me a DM.
Don’t forget to share this blog with your network and help spread the word about the comeback of EmpowHER TT.
